Rose City Plating – Superfund Site


Portland, Oregon — 1999

The story of Sellwood Lofts began with a derelict warehouse, 400 tons of toxic waste and former owners on the lam. The site of the former Rose City Plating facility was depressing commerce, social activity and property values within an extended area. Today, with the help of federal, state and local officials, the site is transformed with residential housing topping neighborhood storefronts and a library.
