Clinton Neighborhood Storefronts

Portland, Oregon — 2006

In the Northwest, architectural traditions often respond uniquely to the temperate environment, abundant rainfall and misty winters.  These storefronts were elegantly rendered in Regional Northwest Modern Style by architect Michael McCulloch and Waterleaf Architecture.  Fine lines and large overhangs provide 10,900 sf of leasable space in two buildings that share a wishful, south facing courtyard garden. Exterior materials are left in their natural states, taking advantage of the inherent beauty of stained cedar, galvanized steel and brick. All rainwater runoff is handled on-site. Retail tenants enjoy light-filled spaces with large overhead doors opening to the courtyard, street life, and neighborhood beyond.
